There are countless customer relationship management platforms. How do you figure out which one’s best for you? Here is an overview of some of the most popular CRM software out there.


Small (under 50 employees)

  • If you have never used a CRM platform before, Insightly is for you. With intuitive menus and tools to help you navigate the software, you’ll be able to build your CRM skills while still having many of the same benefits as more advanced CRM software systems.
  • If you’re looking for the least expensive solution, go with Zoho… it’s free for up to 10 users! Zoho offers many of the necessary basic features you need when you are just starting out your business, including an integrated email inbox, social media trend monitoring, and analytics. It also allows synchronization with Google Mail, so you can easily access and work with Google Apps and Google Drive, as well as other apps like Dropbox and MailChimp.
  • SalesforceIQ is the small business version of Salesforce, with a simple setup process and easy connection to your Gmail or Exchange email. Salesforce FAQ explains that while both SalesforceIQ and Sales Cloud (the standard Salesforce software) work great for small businesses, Sales Cloud may be better if you want the ability to fully customize your CRM solution.

 

Medium (between 50 and 249 employees)

  • Perhaps the most well-known of the CRM platforms, Salesforce’s advantages are many. Their mobile app is especially useful for checking up on your CRM from anywhere. While the software is on the pricier side, it is a great option when you consider scalability. Will your company be expanding in the near future (in terms of employees or customers)? Salesforce provides flexibility with this.

Large (250 employees or greater)

  • Many sources will again suggest Salesforce, and with good reason, as it truly is the king of CRM platforms. However, there are other less expensive options:
    • Pipeliner CRM, at only $35 per month, is visually useful as it displays your company’s sales pipeline through graphs. You can view each opportunity in whatever step of the sales process it falls under. It is simple and straightforward.
    • Nimble is deeply intergrated with social media channels. If you’re hoping to analyze customer trends and better understand your customers’ behavior, this might be the best choice for you.
